Ed Kurtz began his career in the life insurance business in February 1976 as an agent with Great-West Life. He progressed over time to become a supervisor and account manager. In 1984, he was hired to manage the Winnipeg branch of National Life (now IA). Longing for independence, he resigned and opened a store front office in the Courts of St. James in 1986. He has owned and operated Ed Kurtz Insurance Services Inc. since 1977 and registered the marketing name of Courts Financial Group in 1993.
